Located on Manhattan?s famous Upper West Side, HI NYC is 2 blocks from Central Park and just minutes by subway from everything you want to see and do in the city. We?re a short walk from Columbia University, St. John the Divine, and the vibrant neighborhood of Harlem. All dorm rooms (~250-300 sq.ft.) are equipped with individual reading lamps, lockers (18Wx35Hx19D) and linen. Mixed dormitories can only accommodate guests traveling together as mixed travel companions. Individual guests cannot be accommodated in mixed dormitory rooms, but will be accommodated in same gender rooms. Gender must be specified in order to confirm the booking. All guests must reside more than 50 miles away from New York City limits - New York City Residents (or within 50 miles) are not accepted by the property. Situated near Central Park and Columbia University, the hostel is in a historic Victorian Gothic-style building on the Upper West Side. It organizes walking tours, sporting events, group outings to concerts and more. There is capacity for 672 guests, and facilities include internet access, kitchen and laundry. At HI NYC, we believe that to get to know a place, you have to see it like a local sees it, hang out where the locals hang out, feel it like a local feels it. Guests must present a membership card at check-in or pay a membership fee of USD 3 per night, thus we have two rate plans - member fee exclusive or inclusive, so both options are available.
