The Grand Hotel Philadelphia is the unique initiative of the Philadelphia Care Foundation (Stichting Philadelphia Zorg), which is a national network-based organisation providing advice and support to people who need care, regardless of cause, disability or age, in order for them to live their lives as independently as possible. Under the guidance of a team of professionals from the catering industry, young persons with a minor mental disability can take part in a learning and working project in our hotel. They work in the kitchen, the Grand Café, the bakery, the laundry room and housekeeping. The goal of this project is so that young persons can acquire certificates with relevant labour market value, enabling them to get a job in the regular job market. A job coach of Philadelphia supports the youngsters in the project and helps them find an appropriate job.The Grand Hotel Philadelphia opened its doors in May 2005 and is located in the Rotterdam shipping-quarter (Scheepvaartkwartier). Our hotel was created after the thorough renovation of 3 classic buildings. It offers 20 large rooms, a Grand Cafe Restaurant, 2 private meeting rooms and its own Philly?s bakery. The Grand Hotel Philadelphia is not an ordinary hotel! The hotel is a training project for mentally disabled young people, who are gaining experience in various departments of the hotel.

rooms: The Grand Hotel Philadelphia offers 20 very spacious guest rooms, which are available in 3 categories: standard, superior and deluxe. All are non-smoking rooms. All of our rooms are equipped with a double bed, a bath and a separate shower, and all other facilities that you might expect of a 4-star hotel. Due to the unique architectural style of the building, no 2 rooms are the same! Some rooms have access to our roof terrace and / or have their own balcony. All rooms are equipped with internet access and a safety deposit box. It is also possible to order a newspaper for the mornings during check-in. The Grand Hotel Philadelphia has 2 classic-style rooms, which can be booked exclusively for dinners, lunches or closed meetings. The maximum capacity is 12 people.
